The window for NBA signings is expected to open on June 22. The window will be available to all 30 League clubs, not just the 22 that will participate in the 2019/20 season restart in Orlando.
Teams will be able to convert two-way player contracts into standard contracts and sign available free agents before the end of the season.
The season interrupted by the coronavirus pandemic is scheduled to resume on July 31. The list of available players will include those who had a contract in the NBA, development League, or training camp during the 2019/20 season.
Malik monk’s disqualification for violating the anti-doping program is over
The suspension of hornets defender Malik monk for violating the NBA’s anti-doping program was completed during the break in the 2019/20 season.
Monk was suspended indefinitely at the end of February. It was reported that the 22-year-old defender will be reinstated as soon as it is confirmed that he no longer uses banned drugs.
Monk participated in the Charlotte conferences and trained in the club’s gym after it opened.
Al-Farouq Aminu is unlikely to recover by the start of the season
Magic forward Al-Farouq Aminu is unlikely to return to action by July 31, when the 2019/20 season is scheduled to restart.
In January, Aminu underwent surgery to repair the meniscus.
Orlando President Jeff Weltman said the club does not want to risk the health of a player who has missed a long term. He also noted that Floridians will follow the process of restoring the Nigerian.
